Eccekenoo is, above all, an invitation to live according to the will of God, placing gifts, resources and abilities at the service of his children.
Where it comes from
Eccekenoo was born from a calling: to live facing God and to act for the good of our neighbor. Its identity rests on the love of God, on the union of faith and reason, and on the commitment to turn the values of the Gospel into concrete action in the service of others.
Inspired by the thought and legacy of Saint John Paul II, we recognize that God's love shows itself in mercy, self-giving and service to each of his children.
The fiat and the Holy Family
The spiritual heart of Eccekenoo is the fiat of Jesus and Mary to the Father: that yes of love, obedience and surrender to the divine will. Two hearts joined in one disposition to fulfill God's plan.
This identity is also seen in the light of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Its three hearts stand for the love, unity and protection of the family, a source of inspiration for a more humane, caring and fraternal society.
Faith and reason
Faith sustains hope, because it believes change is possible. Reason guides action, because it brings order, method and judgment so that good will becomes concrete, responsible processes. And dignity governs how we treat each person, so that no one is reduced to their fault, their past or their condition.
How we work
We promote service and social development initiatives in Costa Rica and other countries through alliances with foundations, organizations, companies and public and private institutions. We believe faith must be expressed in works, that solidarity needs commitment, and that when wills come together lives are transformed and communities grow stronger.
