Renovatio Vitalis

Renovatio Vitalis.

Health of body, soul and spirit. Eccekenoo's psychology and coaching area improves the mental health of people and organisations from an integral perspective grounded in the Catholic faith.

Mission and vision

Our mission is to foster the mental well-being of individuals and organisations through coaching, psychotherapy and training, promoting emotional, moral and spiritual intelligence in every process, from a Catholic perspective.

Our vision is to bring these programmes of healing, development and integral growth to people and organisations in Costa Rica, Latin America and other parts of the world open to them. The services rest on the Catholic faith and on psychology as a science, guided by the encyclical Fides et Ratio and the sacramental life, and they place Jesus Christ at the centre of healing in the mental, physical, social and spiritual dimensions.

Put off the old self and put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24).

Our moral principles

Nine principles govern every process.

  • Respect for every person who deals with us.
  • Hope that positive change is possible.
  • Nobility in how we treat everyone.
  • Optimism to see further and work hard.
  • Courage to overcome difficulties and encourage others.
  • Love of God and neighbour.
  • Temperance in deeds and words.
  • The EME intelligences: emotional, moral and spiritual.
  • Obedience to God, to live in his divine will.

Primary and secondary prevention

In primary prevention the aim is to keep mental illness from appearing. A person who cultivates emotional, moral and spiritual intelligence has stronger inner resources: better resilience, conflict resolution, healthy self-esteem, creative thinking and assertive communication.

In secondary prevention we offer coaching and psychology to those who ask for them. Psychotherapy addresses depressive, anxiety and personality disorders and pathological grief. Life coaching works on purpose in life, reaching goals, overcoming limiting beliefs, self-esteem and transversal skills.

How we work

A coaching or psychology process follows three phases: a deep assessment of the person, a personalised treatment plan, and its application with follow-up, always focused on developing skills grounded in Catholic virtues.

For companies and organisations we offer a training plan in the EME intelligences, with modules on emotional, moral and spiritual intelligence and talks on self-knowledge, managing anger, assertive communication and the root of everyday conflict at work. Each module has its outline, learning activities and expected results.

The foundations of our work

The Catholic faith, moral theology and psychology as a science underlie everything we offer. The health of the soul bears directly on a person's mental health: as the Fathers of the Church taught, souls fall ill when they stray from their purpose, which is to know, love and serve God. Sin has damaged the human being in many ways; the good news is that Jesus came to save and heal us by his life, passion and resurrection.
